Reading Tutors for
DC Families
Is your child or teen’s struggle to read affecting their self-confidence?
Our reading tutors can get your student reading fluently and caught up to their peers while instilling a love of reading.
Rather than just practice reading where a student guesses at words based on pictures or context clues, we follow the Science of Reading and use systematic, explicit instruction in phonological skills, phonics and fluency to help your student learn the foundational skills all students need in order to be fluent readers, good spellers and confident students.
Our Program
Sign Up Any Time of Year!
Grades: 1-12
Format: Live 1-on-1 customized tutoring sessions
Platform: Zoom
Schedule: Before, during, or after school/camp and weekends
Methods: The Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham
Our Reading Program is Designed with Busy DC Families in Mind
If your child is noticeably behind their peers in reading, you want them caught up as quickly as possible.
We get that.
Rather than just making progress, we want your student to reach grade level and “graduate” quickly.
That requires a reading tutor to work intensively with your child.
For a lot of students, that means 3-4 or even 5 sessions per week for several months.
That’s tricky for many DC families.
We’ve learned that most families have really busy schedules and would find it impossible to do
in-person sessions several times a week.
That’s why we developed our online reading program and work with students over Zoom.
_____
"His teacher says he is doing extremely well, absolutely on track, and that she never, ever would have imagined that he was behind grade level expectations last year."
