Our Traditional Summer Program
****Get Caught Up By the Start of the New School Year****
(or at least make AMAZING progress!)
Our Summer Program is an extension of our year-round program for students entering grades 1-12, with even more flexibility.
-
Schedule an introductory call with Daniela.
-
Do the screeners.
-
Choose the days and times that work with your schedule, before or after camps or summer school. Weekends optional.
-
Skip the weeks you're out of town. Or not! It's virtual, so your child can do lessons from anywhere.
SoundWork: Our Summer Workshop for Pre-Readers
****Prevent Reading Struggles****
Students entering Kindergarten will learn how our reading/writing system works, so that they can benefit from the phonics instruction they'll get in school next year.
-
1-on-1 over Zoom for 15 minutes per day, Monday - Thursday.
-
Focus on phonological skills - understanding how our reading/writing system works - with the Kilpatrick One Minute Exercises ("Word Games"). See the video above for more information.
-
Designed for students entering Kindergarten who are "at risk" for dyslexia and dysgraphia, who
-
have family history of dyslexia or dysgraphia
-
are in speech therapy, or
-
are showing other early signs of being at risk for dyslexia and dysgraphia.
-
Note 1: A parent (or other adult) must be in the room with the child during SoundWork sessions.
Note 2: This workshop meets for 15 minutes/day and focuses on phonological skills, so students will only do limited early phonics work. If your child already knows most or all of the consonant sounds and you're looking for a more complete program that includes significant phonics instruction, let's discuss whether our traditional summer program might be a better fit for your child.
