Our Traditional Summer Program

****Get Caught Up By the Start of the New School Year****

Our Summer Program is really an extension of our year-round program, with even more flexibility.  

• Schedule an introductory call with Daniela.

• Do the screeners.

• Choose the days and times that work with your schedule, before or after camps or summer school. Weekends optional. 

• Skip the weeks you're out of town. Or not!  It's virtual, so your child can do lessons from anywhere.

Sound Work: Our Summer Workshop for Pre-Readers

****Preventing Reading Struggles: Students will learn how our reading/writing system works, so that they can benefit from the phonics instruction they'll get in school next year.****

Sound Work: A Workshop to Prepare Future Readers is focused on preventing reading problems. 

• 1-on-1 over Zoom for 15 minutes per day, Monday - Friday.

• Focus on phonological skills - understanding how our reading/writing system works - with the Kilpatrick One Minute Exercises ("Word Games").  See the video below.

• Designed for students entering pre-k and kindergarten who are "at risk" for dyslexia and dysgraphia, i.e. kids who

  • • have family history of dyslexia or dysgraphia

    • are in speech therapy, or 

    • are showing other early signs of being at risk for dyslexia and dysgraphia.  

• A parent (or other adult) must be in the room with the child during the sessions. 

Note: This workshop only meets for 15 minutes/day and focuses on phonological skills, so students will only do limited early phonics work - if your child already knows most of the consonants and you're looking for a more complete program that includes significant phonics instruction, let's discuss whether our traditional summer program with 30 minute sessions might be a better fit for your child.
